Tea Tree Oil (Melaleuca alternifolia) is belongs to Myrtaceae family and contains approx 230 plants species. It has very powerful antiseptic properties. It is also rich in oil with the glands prominent.
Tea Tree oil has been used for almost 90-100Years in Australia. Tea tree oil can be used in skin cleansers, antiseptic ointments and other infection washes.
Tea Tree Oil is extracted by the method of steam distillation from the leaves and twigs of the plant of tea tree.
It has a warm and light spicy, rather pungent smell and is water white clear liquid.
The main chemical composition of tea tree oil are a-pinene, b-pinene, sabinene, myrcene, limonene, 1,8-cineole, a-phellandrene, a-terpinene, y-terpinene, p-cymene, terpineolene, linalool, terpinene-4-ol and a-terpineol.
Bergamot, clove bud, clary sage and lavender.
Safety and Precaution:
Tea tree oil is likely unsafe when taken by mouth don’t take this oil by mouth. Most of people put the oil directly on their skin, but it can cause skin irritation and swelling. So please don’t put the oil directly on their skin.
Tea tree oil is unsafe in pregnancy when ingested.
